I acknowledge that, wherever in Australia we are, we are on Aboriginal Land and pay my respects to the traditional owners of the land.

Always has been, always will be Aboriginal land.

I acknowledge and am sorry for the injustices done to the First People in the past and in the present by the white community to which I belong.

I acknowledge my foremothers – the women who fought for the rights I now enjoy – the right to vote, to own property, to work and to speak out.

I acknowledge the place of privilege I come from as a white woman, and as a woman with sufficient income to have a roof, food, clothes, transport and many other things denied to so many of my sisters.
